Text Printing Position Shifted Left/Right or Up/Down Rather Than Centered in Middle of the Row

Cause

This is a phenomenon that occurs with PDF files.

As the font is not embedded in the PDF, some text is switched out with a replacement font during the RIP process, with those sections being shifted either up/down or left/right.

Overview

Embed the required font in the PDF before printing.

Precautions

There is a chance that the size of the PDF data may increase.

Procedure

The example procedure below uses Adobe Acrobat.

1. Use Acrobat to open the PDF file.

2. Select [File], [Properties...], and then [Fonts].

3. Check that "(Embedded Subsets)" is listed for all fonts.

4. If it is not listed, use the [Adobe PDF] virtual printer to recreate the PDF file.
