Paper Jams Occurring During Printing or Copying
To Prevent Paper Jams
Paper jams may occur during printing or copying.
In order to help prevent the occurrence of paper jams, always keep the following points in mind.
- Is the condition of the paper appropriate?
- Are the paper settings and the size of the paper in the feed tray correct?
Using Paper Jam Preventing Functions
- Using the Air Blow Functions
The system features air-blowing functions. Use these functions to prevent paper jams and help prevent their reoccurrence.
The Air Blow functions blow air onto the paper loaded in the feed tray to ensure the paper is fed through smoothly. For details, refer to What Is the [Air Assist]?.

Make use of following [Expert Adj.] functions depending on the situation.

If a Paper Jam Occurs?
You can check if a paper jam has occurred via the message screen or via the lighting of the lamp. For details about how to deal with paper jams, refer to the relevant reference page.
