For Reducing Spoiled Paper
Overview
Change the settings detailed below in order to reduce the number of spoiled sheets (paper that need to be disposed) generated when performing adjustments. For details about configuring the settings of the various functions, refer to the reference page.
NOTICE
- Configuring the settings to reduce the number of spoiled sheets may result in the following:
- Image quality stability may be reduced when printing at high volumes
- Secondary and tertiary color stability may be reduced

Change the [Color Density Control] settings. Lowering the Periodical Adjustment (automatic adjustment) frequency reduces the number of chart sheets printed, helping minimize how many wasted sheets are produced.

Uncheck [Auto Selection] for [Package Color Auto Adj.] when Intelligent Quality Optimizer IQ-501 is mounted. Perform adjustment without performing [Image Diagnosis]. Doing this means no charts are output, reducing the amount of spoiled paper.

If there are any issues with the image quality, make the additional adjustments detailed below.
Set [Auto Selection] to ON for [Package Color Auto Adj.], execute [Image Diagnosis], and then adjust the items that are available except for controller calibration items such as [Exact Color] and [G7]. For details about [Image Diagnosis], refer to [Image Diagnosis].

To reduce the amount of spoiled paper even more after first performing the procedure detailed in section 1 of "Recommended Settings" to reduce the frequency at which Periodical Adjustment (automatic adjustment) is performed, perform [Color Density Manual Control] as required.
When performing [Color Density Manual Control], be sure to first set [Periodical Adj. Execution] to [OFF]. For details about [Periodical Adj. Execution], refer to [Basic Setting].
