Authenticated Printing

Overview

Only users registered via machine authentication or external server authentication can print authenticated prints.

Tips
  • If you enter a username and password not registered on the machine using [User Authentication] and try to print, or if you do not select [User Authentication] and try to print, the system does not authenticate and the job is discarded.
  • Even if the user is registered, if they do not have permission to print they are still unable to print. For details about [User Authentication], contact the system administrator.

Procedure

This section describes the process using PS Plug-in Driver as an example.

Click the [Authentication] tab in PS Plug-in Driver.

Select [Main Body] for [User Authentication].

Enter a username and password registered on the system.

[User Name]: up to 64 single-byte/double-byte characters

[Password]: up to 64 single-byte characters, or blank

Click [OK].
