Setting items | [Inspection Excluding Area] | Sets an area that is not subject to automatic inspection.
[Barcode Area] | Sets an area targeted for bar code inspection. This function reads and decodes the bar code in the target area. You can also check whether the numeric value changes sequentially. For details on the types of corresponding bar codes, refer to "Select Bar Code Type" on [Select Area].
[Serial No. (0-9) Area] | Sets an area targeted for serial number (number) inspection. This function reads and decodes the number in the target area. You can also check whether the numeric value changes sequentially. The read number must satisfy the following conditions. Font type: Gothic / Arial Font size: 8 points or more Background color: White Number of characters: 20 There must be a margin of at least 5 mm around text.
[Specified Level Area] | Performs the automatic inspection at the individually specified inspection level. For details about the setting procedure, refer to [Automatic Inspection Level Setting].
[Variable Area] | Sets a part of the paper face as a variable area when conducting variable printing. This item is available only when the reference image is RIP data. For example, if the value changes from 1 to 100 in a job with the same image except for the numeric value, the numeric value part can be set as a variable area. If you register RIP data of only 1 sheet used as the reference image and set a variable area even when printing a job of 100 sheets, you can conduct the automatic inspection for a job of 100 sheets.
Remarks | [Barcode Area] and [Serial No. (0-9) Area] are optional functions. They are not displayed by default. To use this setting, please contact your service representative. If a space between numbers in the target area is narrow when a number is read using [Serial No. (0-9) Area], a recognition error may occur.
